Kevin Delaney is another KTQ customer whose story is just amazing not to be shared. Kevin is a life long hockey player and has been coaching hockey for 18 years. He stated that hockey was always a hobby for him. He said that it is “very exciting that I am able to work with the professionals and continue to do my work with youth players,” Kevin said.
Kevin was born with inner ear nerve damage in both ears and since third grade, he has worn a hearing aid. He now wears two hearing aids. Kevin has been part of the American Hearing-Impaired Hockey Association since 1984 first as a player and now as a coach.
Kevin is in his fifth season with the Chicago Blackhawks as the skating and skills coach. He works with players and their AHL affiliate in Rockford and with players in Chicago. He is a part of the development team.
“I had a bunch of baseball hats around my house and remember that Meredith had this quilt company and decided to send them out to have a quilt made,” Kevin explained. He had accumulated more hats since and then shirts from his Grateful Dead concerts over the years and recently, the Stanley Cup victories of the Blackhawks.
“I find the quilts a great way to commemorate the past and still find some use for everyday living. For example, we use the quilts all the time, in the house on the couch when watching TV. We use them at soccer and football games and use them for camping.” Kevin couldn’t have said it better than us — KTQ preserves your precious memories and put it into a treasured quilt to be used by family and friends for many years to come.
